Do you or your child struggle in social situations?
People on the autism spectrum often struggle with social interaction, including initiating conversations, understanding non-verbal cues, maintaining eye contact and interpreting non-literal language like sarcasm or idioms. They may either have limited motivation for social engagement or a strong desire to interact but find it challenging due to these difficulties and their unique sensory processing experiences.
- Support from industry leading clinicians
- Patient Centric Approach
Do you or your child struggle to communicate with others?
People with autism experience communication differences that vary in impact. Some children may meet early speech milestones but struggle with social communication as they grow. Others show clear communication differences early on. Characteristics include limited or excessive language use, flat tone, repetitive phrases, difficulty with back-and-forth conversation and challenges understanding non-verbal cues. Adults may also struggle with small talk and have a varied range of language abilities, from functional communication to non-verbal.

Do you or your child have intense interests and become fixated on tasks?
Both children and adults with Autism often exhibit restricted interests and engage in repetitive behaviours. These behaviours might include repetitive movements, adherence to specific routines and intense interests in particular topics. This hyper fixation can dominate their thoughts and conversations, providing a sense of comfort and predictability.
- Excellent Treatment Success Rate
- Lasting Transformation for patients
Are you or your child overly sensitive or under reactive to sensory stimuli?
Autism can impact sensory experiences in varied ways. People with autism may have difficulties regulating sensory information. These sensory differences can also affect those around them, including family and loved ones.
They may experience:
- Hyposensitivity (under-sensitivity)
- Hypersensitivity (over-sensitivity)
- Fluctuating levels of sensitivity
- Excellent patient satisfaction
- Creating a positive outcome
Does a change in route cause anxiety for you or your child?
Individuals with autism often have special interests, routines, or rituals, which may include collecting objects, being fascinated by specific topics, or engaging in repetitive activities. These interests and behaviours help manage stress and anxiety, providing comfort and a sense of control. Established routines serve as coping mechanisms to manage the uncertainties of daily life.
- Excellent patient satisfaction
- Creating a positive outcome
Do you or your child posses exceptional attention to detail?
Autistic individuals have several positive traits that enhance their abilities, including:
- Enhanced Attention to Detail: They can perceive and process information with remarkable precision and thoroughness.
- Increased Focus and Concentration: They can immerse themselves in tasks of interest for extended periods
- Exceptional Memory and Recall: They retain vast amounts of information, excelling in fields requiring accuracy and precision
These traits enable autistic individuals to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- Excellent patient satisfaction
- Creating a positive outcome
Do you suffer or your child suffer co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression?
Individuals with ASD, regardless of age, may also experience co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD or sensory processing disorders. A comprehensive assessment is crucial to understand the full spectrum of their experiences and provide effective support.
- Excellent patient satisfaction

Individuals with autism don't always lack empathy
People with autism can experience empathy in diverse ways. Some may have stronger emotional empathy than cognitive empathy, a concept known as empathic disequilibrium, especially in autistic women. Empathy may also be conditional, with ease in empathising with close individuals or animals. For others, empathising requires effort due to difficulty reading social cues, while some may experience hyper-empathy, becoming overwhelmed by others' emotions. A few may identify with low empathy. Empathy in autism is complex, varying widely across individuals.

Why assessing Autism matters in adults and children
Diagnosing Adults & Children with Autism
Challenges in Autism diagnosis
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be diagnosed at any age, though many are diagnosed in childhood. However, some individuals remain undiagnosed until adulthood. This delayed diagnosis often results in a lack of self-understanding and challenges in accessing appropriate support and resources. Early and accurate diagnosis is essential for providing the necessary interventions and support to help individuals with Autism thrive.
Subtle Presentation of Autism
Autism can present subtly in adults, making it harder to identify. Challenges with social cues, communication nuances, and sensory sensitivities can significantly impact daily interactions and experiences. Recognising these signs in both children and adults is crucial for timely and accurate diagnosis, which is essential for accessing appropriate support and interventions. Often symptoms of autism can internalise and are difficult to detect.
Co-Occurring Conditions with Autism & ADHD
Individuals with Autism, including both adults and children, may also experience co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD. These additional conditions can complicate the diagnostic process and require careful and comprehensive evaluation to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective management. Recognising and addressing these co-occurring conditions is crucial for providing holistic support to individuals.

Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Autism)
Early signs of Autism in children can often be detected by the age of two. These signs may include limited eye contact, delayed speech development, lack of interest in social interactions, repetitive behaviours, and heightened sensitivity to sensory stimuli. Recognising these symptoms early is crucial for timely intervention. At Sanctum Healthcare, our comprehensive assessments are designed to identify these early signs, enabling us to provide effective support and tailored intervention strategies.
Diagnosing ASD involves a detailed evaluation process that includes behavioural observations, developmental history, and standardised assessments. For children, this often involves input from parents and teachers, while adults may undergo self-reported questionnaires and clinical interviews. At Sanctum Healthcare, we use a multidisciplinary approach to ensure an accurate diagnosis, taking into account the unique presentations of ASD across different age groups.
Treatment for ASD typically includes behavioural interventions, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a widely used approach that helps improve social, communication, and daily living skills. While there are no medications specifically for ASD, medications may be prescribed to manage co-occurring conditions like anxiety or ADHD. Sanctum Healthcare provides a holistic treatment plan tailored to each individual’s needs, focusing on enhancing their quality of life and helping them achieve their full potential.
